Timn F. Jacobs – “I am a very lucky man. I have a loving family, a good job, and the good fortune of knowing what I love to do…paint.”
Growing up on a farm in rural Wisconsin, Timn had a lot of time to roam the fields and woods of his property with his dog…There
wasn’t much else to do. But spending that time with nature helped him capture the intrinsic beauty of natural settings. Formally
trained as an architect, Timn is mostly self-taught in the fine arts. He has painted all of his life, although he took a short 19 year
hiatus to attend to other matters. Timn paints in various mediums and styles, looking for different expressions of what he sees.
Landscapes are his favorite subject. “I look at myself as a recovering architect, vowing never to draw a straight line again.” Most of
Timn’s work is individual commissions. “I like to work with my client to create a finished piece. They pick a style, choose a subject or
‘feeling’ and then I create around those ideas. It is one of the residual design approaches from my architecture practice. I love my
client to be part of the process.” Timn lives in Eagan, MN with his wife, and their ‘princess’ sheltie. He creates in his home studio, a
gift of hard work from his parents and his wife.
